Welcome to the new ATIL website. We’re thrilled to offer an information resource for prospective tenants, caregivers, social workers, and anyone interested in contributing to ATIL’s Mission.
In designing the website, we asked a great deal of our residents and caregivers. We asked them to allow us to create videos of how they live and work at our houses. The process wasn’t easy, especially for the residents. I learned that most residents are reluctant to talk about their injuries or look at photos of themselves as they were before they were injured.
Obtaining pre-injury photos of the residents was understandably difficult. Despite their reluctance, our residents are real troopers. They did their best to find a photo or two of themselves we could use in our videos. They were also willing to tell stories about their injuries and their journeys to an ATIL house.
ATIL caregivers work tirelessly behind the scenes to provide the best living experience possible for our residents. They aren’t accustomed to speaking about their work.
Like the residents, the caregivers were real troopers who did their best in the caregiver video to describe their commitment to their work and to our residents.
The new website gives the ATIL Board an opportunity to acknowledge and thank donors for their generosity. Our most recent donations include a grant from Fremont Bank Foundation for concrete and asphalt repairs at our houses, work on designing and building our new website by Illustrateddomains.com, videotaping at our houses by Kevin Wing Media, designing and building a backyard picnic area at Sam Chriest House by Beautiful Day Volunteers and regular donations to ATIL by West Valley Presbyterian Church.
I hope you find the information on our website useful. Please feel free anytime to let me know if you would like more information about ATIL or the work we do.
Steve Chriest
